Another slow painful run... well just kind of soreish. Looped Stone Cliff and in to B-Hills before coming back to River Road and home. Pace was slow and easy at 7:20 avg. Looking forward to the soreness leaving the legs. I'll also be in SLC Friday and Sat so if anyone wants to run up there let me know.

5 miles tonight with Don. Around the Knolls and into B-hills onto the GC and round then back. Pace was nice and easy and it helped loosen up the quads.

This run pretty much sucked. Paul and Logan met at the house at 5:15 and we ran through the Knolls, down past Flying J, around the Bloominton Loop then back over to River Road to the house. I just felt like crap- bottom line. The hammy was sore and I was just overall fatigued. I could tell Logan wasn't doing that good either so we kind of were dead weight for Paul. Sorry man! But you always hear that slow miles are good miles too so we avged 7:35 for the run. I hope to be able to relax a little today and run a little shorter on Thursday. Then Logan will be in SLC on Friday morning as well and we are going to try and do a longer run up there.

Had to keep it strictly recly today and just go short and easy. The legs felt much better than the last few days. This was good because if they had not I was thinking about walking away from the sport. I just looped Flying J and B-Hills hitting the loop in 1:03. Now to get ready to head up to SLC.

Good run up here in SLC. Meet up with Adam, Chad, Walter, and Logan (who was up here as well). We met at the state Capital building and ran around the bench for a few to kind of use the flat area before heading up the canyon. Then we started up, up and more up. Walter and Chad needed to head off a little early but the rest of us went up to the top. Adam had fun showing us his little secret running park. It's a great run with really no traffic and for us St. George boys the temps were awesome. I started getting really tierd of the uphill as the legs were still kind of jacked from last weekend but about that time we reached the top. Had we been feeling frisky we could have bailed down really fast but nobody was so we just hit a smoot, conversational 6:40 pace back down to the cars.

It was great to see all those guys. Since I haven't been racing this year I haven't seen most of the blogging family. I thought to my self this morning that when we are all healthy we had a pretty strong pack out today.... not your typical morning joggers!

Great run guys and thanks for coming out!

Kind of a off the cuff rest day. I had planned to do a bike ride today and it didn't happen so I just didn't do anything. This was good. I really enjoyed being up in SLC and just having the morning with my wife and a nice breakfast with some old friends. It felt great getting some extra rest but I feel way chunky now after eating fast food and soda all weekend. I'm guessing Mondays run is going to suck...

Mik'L and I went over to PV high today to run at the track as part of their team fundraiser. I got there and Dave and comp was cooking a smelly good breakfast of pancakes, bacon, eggs, juice, muffins and other good stuff. So I jumped on the track thinking I'd do 8 miles now and maybe some more later or run home or something. Hit the frst warm up mile in 7:15 and then just fell into a nice rythem to run the 8 miles 32 laps in 51:28 and an avg of 6:27 min miles for the run.

Then within 45 seconds of finishing the run I had to jump on the breakfast that I had been smelling the whole run. I wish every run finished with chocolate milk, bacon and pannies.

Not sure if I'll run again today. We came home and cleaned for 5 straight hours... blinds, floors, window seals... now I just want to relax for the rest of the holiday and watch some more college football.

Did the Flying J/ Bloomington loop. The legs felt kind of frisky this morning but I had to keep them at bay. Too bad it was a planned tempo or something. I just peacefully made my way around the loop and enjoyed the starting 65 degree temps. I had a toe nail start to bleed yesterday while running on the track. Then I forgot to cut it and so today within 2 miles I could feel it cutting flesh again and it was bloody when I got home. I did some surgery and removed one whole nail off my left foot when I got home- I need to do that to the same toeon the other side but it hurt too bad today to try.

7:16 avg for the run.

Met up at my house with Logan, Paul and Steve. We did the Bloomington Loop that we ran last week but today the legs felt much better. We started out nice and easy hitting the first mile in 8:15 and continued rolling along just chit chatting until down into Bloomington where Steven started pushing the pace at around mile 5.5 ish. We then pushed a faster than normal pace around Bloomington loop and over to the river tail. Then coming up the trail I suggested that we burn one mile off from the magic bush to the bridge. So we all took off (Steve started early) and ran that mile hard. I didn't reset the watch but I'm guessing I hit that mile really close to 5:20. No faster than 5:15 and no slower than 5:25... Then from there in to the house the deal was to just run nice and easy.

7:08 avg for the run.

Did the Stone Cliff/ B-Hills loop. When I went to bed last night I didn't have anything planned for the morning and thought I'd just leave it up to chance... Well Myler woke up at 5:40 a.m and I fed him and then went out. Just tried to relax and run smooth. I still ended up hitting a 6 min mile from Stone Cliff over to River Road. But I backed back off over on the trails and hit a avg of 7:13 for the run.

Club run tonight. We did the parkway loop. Nothing really blog worthy other than it was good to see the guys and I got a bug in my eye coming down the road by Green Springs.

Same loop as yesterday. I didn't eat anything last night after the club run and then nothing before the run this morning so I was pretty depleted and pathetic this morning. I really need to clean my diet up for starters and then get into a lot better more consistent pattern. But I guess until I really start to train again there is no point and I'll most likely eat junk today. No watch and that was the best part of the run.

Had a good group this morning. We met up at the park and drove up 23 and then came down. I had a little more because I ran past a water bottle and turned around to go get it. Anyways the group was fun and we just chit chatted for the first 10 miles and at some points it felt boringly slow. But we all go warmed up good and by the 10 mile mark I was ready to pick it up. However nobody really wanted to go out so for the next couple miles we still just stayed together. Then finally around Winchester a few of us picked it up a little and carried that pace down off the hill to the old store. From there in I just relaxed and tried to cool down. Never really took off today but that's o.k cuz I would have had a long recovery and now I should be fine on Monday. Everyone ran well and it was fun to have all the guys out and finishing within a few min's of one another. A beautiful morning out here in town.... just the right amount of cool in the air up on the course... and lots of roadkill.

6:46 avg for the run

I didn't get out this morning so had to wait until this evening. We went out as a family. I ran and Mik'L rode the bike pulling the trailer with Myler inside drinking his bottle. We did the same fields loop as we did a week or so ago. I felt really crappy most of the run. After not running since Saturday morning I was just stiff and had a bad case of the Mondays. I kind of finally loosened up and we made it home just after it got dark. I know, I know... how special!

There are so many different loops and variations of loops from this house I never tier of trying them all... the down side is I almost always have to wear the garmin because I don't remember what the distances are. In my old house I could run my loops all the time without needing it. But there I only had a handful of runs. Anyways today I tried a new variation- down River Road to the trail and then down to the DC around Flying J and through the Knolls back home. It felt good and things flowed a lot better than Monday. It was a nice 60F when I went out. Thats just PERFECT for me and running. It's amazing how much better running feels when the temps are just a little cooler.

Did the Flying J loop and extended over to the DC then up to River Road. I felt o.k on the run- no major issues. But my form feels so off. Kind of mechanical or robotic with no flow at all. I'd really like to feel the flow again.

Early morning workout with Paul and Logan. The plan was to run over to the river trail for a 3.4 mile warm up then do 4x1mile repeats and then jog back home. So we got over there and decided all we needed to do was hit the miles in 6 min pace. So we got going and hit the first one in 5:34... so a little faster than planned. Then on the way back we said to slow it up and we hit a 5:38- the pace felt very comfortable. After reaching the top Paul said he was feeling sick and had been on the first two. There was no need to push things for him so we all just jogged down and back and then home. Logan and I were happy for Paul's sickness:) It made it so we didn't have to do anymore speed.... but we really wish Paul the best and hope he gets feeling better. Good workout even though we didn't do all 4 miles. It was nice to run those two miles and feel very comfortable.

May go to club tonight.

Logan called late last night and said do you want to run tomorrow.... it was actually a text but you get my drift. So we went out again. I was planing on having a lie in this morning but no up and gone by 5:20 a.m. Which isn't bad but I wanted that lie in. Anyways we just relaxed and chatted the entire run. We avg 7:14 for the 12.8 mile loop down river road/ up the river trail and around through the fields. It was nice and cool but Logan still was sweating like a horse.

Got home and weeded the garden. I planted it all on Aug 20 and there is corn almost 2ft tall plus much more. The bad news is the peppers haven't come up...

This is an almost pathetic entry... Steve and I met up at my house at 5 a.m. I hadn't really wanted to even go so I pitched to him that we not go... he took the bait and there in the dark on my driveway we bailed on a run after already getting up early and getting ready. Very pathetic but I just didn't feel it at all today.

Through the Knolls and over to the golf course restroom and then back. I decided to restructure my running program as of today. I'd like to drop about 7lbs and for the last month or so it just won't come off... and I just don't want to eat good. So I'm going to start running doubles again. It seems a run in the morning and evening helps my body really get fit... No I'm not going to be increasing the mileage to high volume but rather just the frequency. So in a nutshell like 6-8 miles in the morning and 4-6 miles in the evening. I'll try this for a couple weeks and see how the hammy holds up. It might get a little tweaked with me running STGM in a couple weeks and going to Moab for a mt bike weekend this week but overall thats the new goal.

Did my little auto pilot loop around the GC this evening for some always on the run miles. I felt good... better than avg I guess. Hit the first two miles at around 7:30 then kind of kicked it in and just focused on really good form. Then avg 6:55 for the run. Hitting the last mile up from the gas station under 6 min's. Hopefully this wont trash the system for the week cuz I've got a lot going.

Met up with Logan and Paul here at the house at 5:30 a.m. We did the Bloomington loop run down to the river trail and back around. It was nice and cool and we just eased around. I felt good and never felt like I was working. It's nice to get a run in and not feel beat up from it. I decided that I'm going to run STGM all out and race it hard this year only if there is a 70 mile an hour tail wind... so if it's only 69 mph I'm still a no go.

5 always on the run miles with my uncle over in Hurricane. I've been running with him a few times trying to help him learn the sport or something. He's doing great and did the 5 miles tonight in 47 min with only one walk break and that was factored in to the time. A couple weeks ago we walked 3 or 4 times on only 4 miles. So a big PR for him today.

Looped around B-hills. Temps were great today. I just love this time of year... but it's going to get warmer they say... at least for a while. Run was o.k. nothing blog worthy to report.

Nice cool run this morning pushing Myler in the baby jogger. I woke up feeling like blah and didn't want to do anything but by 3 miles into it I really felt great. It got me excited to head to Moab for a weekend of running, golf, mt. biking, family, and college football. Oh yes baby!

4 miles around the GC here by the cabin in Moab. My left foot felt like it was fractured. I did some wind sprints down the fairway barefoot last night in the dark and now it's just pain. Now to play in the golf tourney.

Went on 2 big mt. bike rides here in Moab. Lots of steep climbs, pounding rock trails, and sand. I road the Slickrock trail this morning. It says on the reviews that it takes between 2-4 hours to ride. I did it in 1:24 - passed lots of road kill. Then this evening I did the Flat Pass trail- or One Rocky Mutha. I was pushing it trying to out run some four wheelers back to town... and I did. I was flying but pounding up the hills and  my heart rate was sky high. Anyway the legs are dead... DEAD! But it was totally worth it.

Didn't have a chance to run until 6 p.m and then I still had to get back in time to mow the law before it got dark. So I did the Stone Cliff loop then around B-hills GC and home. Avg 7:01 pace for the run. Legs felt sloppy at first trying to run out the soreness from yesterdays adventure but after a while things started to click. Looking forward to an eventful week of running memories.

Nice cool morning for a run. I looped down around Flying J and over to the restrooms at the DC for a pit stop then back through B-hill and home. I'm still trying to shake out some major soreness in the legs. Actually the whole body is sore. Bi's, Tri's, Lats, and then the inner quad on the leg is super sore. I guess thats what I get for riding on the Sabbath.

Anyways the run was good and about 5 into it I finally loosened up good enough to enjoy the run. Came home and weeded the garden. We finally have some tomatoes, pumpkin, and peas coming on! How exciting. The corn isn't far behind. I planted it all on the 22nd of Aug.

Was going to run this evening but it was too windy and I hate running in the wind.

Woke up and did a little run with Paul. It was pretty windy out again so that part sucked but the rest of the run was great. We looped around the Stone Cliff hill and into B-hills. My soreness is starting to leave and the legs are feeling good. Paul is running great and will smash his og goal of 3:15.
