Big workout this morning. I had the morning scheduled for a big run but the weather wasn't playing nice. I was going to get out of the house by around 8 or so but it was raining and cold out. In the summer I dream of running in the rain but being soaked and cold only leads one way for me- to trouble. So anyways I waited around and almost talked myself out of going and then decided that it was now or never. So at 10:30 I left the house and it was pretty nice for the first 1.4 miles then for the next 4 miles after that I got rained on and yes soaked. The good news is that right after the rain the sun came out and kind of warmed me up- plus I had on clothing that dries out fast.

About the run. Ran from Middleton up skyline drive to the road that cuts down off the hill by main. Then took that down to the Dixie center and the trail up to the post office then back over into Bloomington Hills and back up to my In-laws house to grab a drink and take a GU. That put me at 10.8 and I was feeling great.

Then I dropped down on the road past Stone Cliff and around into Washington fields up past the Hooper Estate and onto the corn maze road. This took me around the hill and over the bridge up into Washington- up under the freeway and back home. It ended up being a little long so when I got to 20 miles I turned it off and just jogged very easy back to the house the .6 for a good cool down.

I did very well until around 16 and then I started to fall off the pace and after crossing the bridge in Washington fields I struggled up the hill until I went under the freeway. But that is to be expected. I haven't done much of any long runs since pre- STG marathon. Maybe like a couple 16 milers here or there but not much. It will be good to get them back into the diet and condition the body for more than just a hour and a half run.

Ended up finishing the run at 7:03 min/mile pace

Doing all that in the rain and cold sounds kinda miserable! Thank goodness that the sun came out! Nice long run!

Nice run Clyde way to be a warrior out there in the rain. Your fitness will return quick for the long run training days.

Thanks guys. Although Kory I didn't look anything like a warrior.
