I wasn't going to run at all this week but I met up with Steve O. at the gym and he took me through a "boot camp" type workout for my legs. We just jogged on all the running parts. It was more for a warm-up, and recovery during the workout.

My legs just took beat down Monday night RAW style. We did squats, lunges, and that kind of stuff with low weights and high rep's. Overall a great workout and more strenuous than if I'd gone out for a 14 mile run. It's a good thing I'm not running this week because tomorrow I won't be able to walk I'll be so sore.

I'd like to condition my legs into doing something like this once a week for the rest of the winter. I could see big boosts in speed from a workout like this if done along side mid- high mileage running.

I need to hit the gym sometime soon too. Is Steve a trainer?

Clyde, the type of runner you are its hard to take days off. Your legs are going to want to go and keep going. Good luck on the break, and have a good week.

James- Yes I think Steve is a trainer and then he does a lot of other things too. Spin Classes and stuff. But he doesn't do training for a living. Or maybe just on the side... I don't know. He rocked my world today, and I'll be doing something with him on Friday too.

Hey thanks for the help with the shoes, we got Ted two new pair and me one. probley not the best, but I think mixing things up will help us both and they were cheap enough that if they aren't great then we aren't out too much!

Good luck with the work outs and soreness, Maybe you'll be begging to get back to running come Monday!!
