12.3 mile morning run. Standard overpass loop. Good to be back home in the STG. Looking forward to a good week of training with at least one good tempo run somewhere along the line.

The run was good today I had this song and video stuck in my head the whole time.

The word on the street is that Steve Hooper can dance like this.

8.7 mile run this afternoon/ evening. Up to the powerline and down around GS then back home long around Middleton. It is starting to get warm out, but I like the results after a hard workout in the heat.

12.3 mile run this morning. Regular overpass loop. I heard someone whistling at me an I thought it was my secret girlfriend and I turned around and it was Dave on his way to work. I didn't have a garmin on today but the pace felt dead slow. Mik'L and I have a lot going on in our lives right now with our business and other things like looking at new houses and stuff. We've really been blessed the last few months but it does bring a little more stress with the decisions we are having to make every day.

Now I'm off to go work up in Cedar City for the day. Hopefully I'll eat at Bruno's for lunch.

20.1 mile run this morning. I don't know for sure what I've got planned this weekend and so I decided to take advantage of my day off today and do my long run- most likely the last long run before the Ogden marathon. I did the trail up to Winchester Hills loop. I also wanted to get some marathon pace tempo mile in coming back into town. The first 9 something miles are up a rocky trail with an elevation gain of over 1,200ft- so needless to say the pace is slow and allows one time to warm up. Then I got to the golf course and got a drink and took a GU to get ready for the tempo. I ran from the golf course over to the base of the Winchester Hill's hill and there I'd start the 5 mile tempo down into town. Tempo- avg 5:26 pace for 5 miles. 1.5:33- A good strong start up from the bottom of the hill. I also am pushing a strong wind but decide I need to do this regardless of pace- the effort needs to be there. 2.5:32- Start trying to get the turnover into the wind. 3.5:12- A really good downhill section helps me roll regardless of the winds powers! 4.5:35- Not sore or trashed yet but I do stop paying attention and the pace shows. 5.5:15- I regroup for one more mile at pace. Now the tempo is done I just have to make it from the running store back home and it's starting to get warm (over 80). I make my way through town needing a drink and looking like death, I'm sure. Now back at home and the scale says 143.5!!! A new low for me by more than 2lbs. Really, really glad to be done and ready to spend some quality time on the sofa.

8 mile morning run. I forgot to set my alarm and didn't wake up until Mik'L's alarm went off. So time was shorter than normal. I did the GS loop starting with GS first and going up the sand trail to the powerline.... The construction guys have taken a trackhoe up the trail and now it's really sandy- like peeling out every step for a mile and a half.

No soreness from yesterday- however it usually takes a couple days to set in and the about 5 more days to slowly move out.

12.3 mile evening run. I had to skip the club run tonight because of a stake youth leadership meeting... The run was pretty good I didn't push the pace at all and ran the overpass loop in 126:24. That is a pending PR (I'll have to check the books and see later). Overall I'm feeling very good after yesterdays 20 miler with the tempo.

14 mile run this morning. It was a out and back run with a negative split! Actually the whole run sucked. Between the run last night and this mornings run I've put a marathons worth of miles on the body in like 14 hours. I couldn't even get 7 min pace going this morning. Now we are off to Provo to the BYU track meet. I'll get a few miles in up there over the next two day.

4 mile run this evening when we got to Lehi at the hotel. The legs are a little sore as I thought they would be. It took a couple days for it to roll in and most likely will take even longer to roll out.

I ended up doing a 10 mile run about mid-day during the BYU track meet. I went out and back from the track up to Provo Canyon. It felt sore and slow going but the garmin said I won the race with the 7 min guy... 6:59 avg pace per mile.

This will be my last week over 100 miles until after the Ogden Marathon. I've gone 13 straight weeks with an avg of 100 miles or more and the body feels like it could use a little rest. So this next week will be around 70 and then the week of Ogden will be like 60 with the race. With that kind of taper I should be ready to roll.
