4 miles on the treadmill. Not as bad as last Friday but still pretty sore and painful.

20 min's on the elliptical after the run to try and loosen up the hips and such.

15 F out at daybreak.

4 miles on the treadmill. A little more stiff than yesterday. Just a major effort to get through 4 slow miles. Ran it in 37:56 with the first mile in 11:03. This is where I'm at.

15 F at sun up. We've gone through the coldest spell I can remember here in STG. 5 days below 20 F (in a row) with it hitting 14 F once. That's cold round here.

7 real actual running miles today.

2 miles over to the park and back pushing Myler in the jogger. Ran over there with some new running students:). Then after getting back home Myler and I ran back over to the park. While he played on the swings I ran 4 laps (2 miles) around the park. Then we came back home around the bottom of the Knolls and the other side of Coyote. I felt ok for all but the last 1.5 or so. Then the hips started to really tighten. Glad to see the sun warming the cold ground a little today.

4 miles on the treadmill

30 min on the elliptical

Tried something different today. I've been gonna try adding an extra insert to my right shoe because my right leg is shorter and may be the cause of my pain. So I just grabbed another one out of a random shoe and put it under the existing asics insert and... it seemed to help. I'm not sure it was just random or what but I was able to run with less pain, and faster. Lately I've been around 39-38 min's for 4 miles and today it took 35:45 with less pain. Happy about that. But tried sit ups and side sit ups after and couldn't pull at all on the left side... super sore in the groin, lower back and inner thigh.

Good run today. Maybe this adding an extra insert on the right side will work. Got going and felt fantastic... maybe only a 2-3 on the pain scale. It's really been months since I've felt like this. Granted now I'm out of shape so there's different issues but all things considered very positive. I wanted to do about 8ish but got over into B-hills and just couldn't say no to the DC loop. At around 6.5 I got a little tight but it didn't get any worse the remainder of the run. Very thankful for a run like this... I know I'm not "healed". But I've been so hurt for weeks that at time I didn't think I'd run again... ever.  So this gives me hope for change:)

We decided Wednesday night at 11pm to buy tickets to Hawaii and fly out a day and a half later. That's today. Headed over there for a few days and pumped that I'll be able to tool around with a few runs on the island. Mahalo!

Fist day in Hawaii. Got in very late last night but still woke around 6 a.m local time. Headed out for a run before Mik'L and Myler woke. Ran back down the beach front from Waikiki to in the direction of the airport. Just looped around everywhere checking stuff out while the sun came up. Ended up in some big connecting parks and looped them a few times. Had a awesome run with minimal pain on very little sleep. So pumped for the trip!
