2.6 miles this morning on the treadmill. I slept in and enjoyed a relaxing day at home. But by the time I was ready to run it was already 97 outside. So I just jumped on the old dog for a little icebreaker for the day.

5.5 mile easy run toinight with the STGRC. We hit up Dixie Red Hills golf course for three laps around the 9 holes. Good run, nice temp, and good company. We all got sprayed by the sprinklers. As we ran around the course I thought this would be a good place to have a little cross country DUAL with the Logan guys. 5 on 5 dual around our course. Or anyone else that wants to put a team together and come down and race us. But we are calling you guys out. The Logan Running Squad Vs. The St. George Running Club.... to be continued.

Good idea, but you need to dual on a neutral course. You guys are used to running in 125 degree heat. So, you should do it in Salt Lake. Plenty of good XC courses around here.

Actually, there should be some blog-related race event.

We REFUSE to travel! I know that everyone in Salt Lake County thinks that the end of the world ends once you drop below Provo, but it's not true. We have a beautiful place down here... come check it out sometime!

From Cody on Fri, Aug 24, 2007 at 11:36:43

Bring it...

I think that the only way it is fair to run in St George is on the coldest day of the year. But regardless, we got you.

Sounds fun. Maybe Saturday afternoon after the St. George Marathon.

I've actually been thinking it would be fun to have one or two "Blog Championship" events every year. I was thinking of the Top of Utah Half Marathon as the 2008 Blog Championship Half Marathon. Then something in St. George during the winter months would be good too. I just think it would be hilarious if 20 people showed up and ran sub-1:15 at a no-money, no-prize, local event like the TOU Half. The race directors would be baffled. We would have our own prizes though, don't worry. Not to mention the pre-race and post-race party.

From Dave Holt on Fri, Aug 24, 2007 at 14:05:18

Paul, be careful with the post-race party. Steve Hooper is quite the dancer!

From Dustin on Fri, Aug 24, 2007 at 14:26:53

I think it would be a pretty interesting race if you scored it like a Cross Country meet with the St. George crew against the Logan guys. I guess the one important detail would be if we allowed you guys to have Logan Fielding or not. Technically a St. George native, yet training in your country? We could have a three team competition if Sasha and Ted, could find some more Utah County guys.

From James on Fri, Aug 24, 2007 at 14:40:35

Sounds good to me. Logan Fielding will have to choose a side.

From Chad on Fri, Aug 24, 2007 at 14:56:50

Even if you don't hold the event in our CAPITAL CITY, leave room for a SL team. Mike, Bob, Steve . . . ?

How about us Idaho guys, any room for a non-Logan/St. George runner on the blog?

From Logan on Fri, Aug 24, 2007 at 16:37:01

I feel so loved with the St. George guys wanting me on their team and then the Logan guys wanting me on their team. I can really feel the love. Thanks everyone!

From James on Fri, Aug 24, 2007 at 17:30:36

Logan the love will only come from the side you choose! If Logan goes on your side we'll take Jeff, if Logan comes with our side we'll still take Jeff!

From Jon on Fri, Aug 24, 2007 at 23:12:48

The SLC guys can't complain too much, though, cause they have 15 times more people to choose from. And don't try to lump the Logan guys in with them- we travel all the time. Like I've said, it's a lot farther from SLC to Logan than from Logan to SLC (if you ask the SLC guys!).

I'm all in for the race. How about the Thursday night before WBR? 5k race? And we have dibs on Logan!

St. George is going DOWN!!! Logan Rules!!!

From Jon on Fri, Aug 24, 2007 at 23:16:03

Why are we a running squad when you are a running club???

Clyde, name the time and place and we will be there. But bring pillows to sit on afterwards, with the butt-whupping you will receive!

From Jon on Fri, Aug 24, 2007 at 23:20:50

Jeff, we have dibs on you, too. Looks like Paul, Logan, Jeff, James, me, Cody, and Dan (if he wants). 7 person team, exactly like cross country.
