GS/Power/Industrial loop x-tended around Middleton. Ran easy and tried to shake out the two trips to In and Out burger this weekend in Vegas. It sure doesn't feel like Christmas eve. Joy to all on the blog family.

Up to Power/GS and home the long way. Nice run this afternoon. My body is needing it. I've been a food consuming machine the last few days and I need to burn stuff off. I went out in shorts with a jacket on up top. It was pretty nice out with just a little wind and nip in the air. Good Christmas run.

Marriement to all.

4 miles this morning on the treadmill.

(stratus 42.6)

Good workout today. Left the house and ran down the the gas station and under the freeway down past Costco to where the trail runs along the river. Took that down to River Road and circled over the bridge and then down around Bloomington hills to the Dixie Center. That was 9.2 miles in 1:00:08 right at 6:30 min/mile pace. Then I did another .8 cool down while Mik'L was finishing her run.

Felt good and actually wanted more when the run was done... but it will have to wait until another day because I've got to spend some time on my PSP playing Tiger Woods PGA Golf 2008 that I got for Christmas.

Enjoy the Holidays!

A version of my old big loop trail. Up to powerline and over to Middleton trail then down through GS and back home. I just took it easy and tried to stay warm in the cool breeze. I wore my heart rate monitor today because I did this run one year and one day ago with an avg. heart rate of 164. Today I ended up going only going 10.6 instead of 11.2 but it was pretty much all the same. Today's avg. heart rate was 144. I'm not getting really excited about my shape but last year I was also about 157 lbs and today I'm 150 so hopefully even with a week off next week I'll be starting the year in a lot better overall shape and be ready to hit it hard in 2008 to steal a few PR's.

I wasn't going to get out today because of some work stuff but some things fell through and it gave me time for a little run.

I did the Powerline/Industrial park loop. The first three and a half up to the water tank were just easy as I tired to get moving. Then on the oil road I really got into a nice groove and was moving right along. One of the best smooth paced runs I've had this winter. I wish I would have wore the garmin to see what was going on. Instead of wearing pants or tights I just went in short and it feels way better. The freedom of the legs is a must for a good run.

Well today was the day. I finally crossed the 4,000 mile mark for 2007. It's kind of cool because last year I ran pretty strong and only hit 2,663. This year was very good to me and my running. I was able to stay healthy for the most part, and that helped me stay on track to see some big improvements. Next year I'm not going to strive to hit 5,000 miles for the year. I'm just going to try and run at least one more mile than I end up with in 2007. If I can train at lest that well I'll have a good year. I'd like to replace my 100 mile weeks with 120's and bring a lot more tempo work in. I may catch a run on Monday but after that I'm hitting my scheduled "time off" for the year. I figure I'll take next Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday off completely from running and the do something short on Saturday. This should give me the time to prepare mentally and physically for what lies ahead.

Todays run was good. I was going to meet the club at 7 a.m but couldn't do the cold and early morning so I slept in until 10:30 (it felt so good) and then went out on my old "big loop" up Mill Creek, over the powerline, down through industrial, and back home the long way through Middleton. Took it easy and then ran the last 4.5 at just under 6:30 min/mile pace. Nothing fancy just enough to get the blood flowing.
