Early morning run down from the DC around the fields and into Bloomington Hills then back. I decided I'd do a longish run this morning after the last two weeks have been junk. Depending on how this run went and how I felt it would give me the info I'd need to decide what to do about Squaw.

So I started out nice and slow trying to really warm up and give the body time to get going. Hit 8 miles in 1:00 right on then too a GU at 10 miles and turned around. On the way back I was feeling good and the form felt great so next thing I know I'm hitting 6:10's for a few. Along here I pass Dave and almost jump in with him as he was doing tinman but I quickly re thought the act and opted out. Got back to the car in 2:27 hitting around 7:18 min mile pace for the run. I felt really good and on days where I feel like I just want to stop distance running I should reflect back to how wonderful it was this morning to be out while the sun was coming up and getting a good workout in.

So I'm going to wait until mid day to decide for sue. I'll see then how I feel and where we are at with the house stuff.

Happy Anniversary to Mik'L and I. 8 glorious years and an eternity to go. She's great and you all know she puts up with a lot with me. Love you little sweet pie:)

Nothing yet today. I'm pretty sore from yesterday as I suspected I would be. My wife and I have decided that I'll have to pass on running Squaw Peak this week. With the last couple weeks of bad health I'm not really up for a 50 miler... One other thing is we bought a new house yesterday and will be starting the moving process this week and next. I've got a million things to do between cleaning the new house, packing up our stuff here, moving it all over there, and then starting block walls and landscaping over there. So outside of not feeling strong enough to run the race I just don't have time to think about it anymore.

As for running in general I'll try and get myself healthy again with no races planned at all. My hammy continues to pull and ache and it really does me no good to log miles and miles because improvement is limited with the continued pain. Basically I won't be running fast until I can be running pain free. Anyways thats where I'm at right now. We are super pumped about the new house. For us it's going to be way nice and it's in a great running location with lots of flat options in every direction. Should be fun.

I left Mik'L's truck over at the office last night just so I had to get up this morning and run over there to get it. This turned out to be a pretty good strategy as when I got up I really didn't want to run but had to stick to the plan. Once out the door I felt kind of sore and tight for the first 3 miles but after I warmed up I felt fairly good. Went down past Costco and over behind the animal shelter to where the Mesquito trail starts. I was going to take it across to the road but once I got most of the way across it the trail was all tore up and closed. So I had to back track and then finally got to the road. Hit the river trail down and then up to the office. Good run.

It looks like we will be moving on this Saturday morning. Unless something crazy happens with closing and loan crap. But if things go as planned we would take any help we can get.

Got up and did the old skool GS loop and maybe bid it a farewell. I've ran thousands of miles around that loop the last three years and for some reason just love it in a weird way. I can almost turn the body onto auto pilot and just let it go. I guess if this house doesn't close then I'll be here still and maybe keep running it for another 3 years. But things are moving along.

As for a firm moving day we keep jumping all over the place due to the bank. I'd love to have any help but we may not know until the day before what day it will be. Totally sucks and we are just stressed about everything right now but I guess in two weeks we won't even remember what was going on.

I'll keep things posted...

Packed and moved some of the stuff today. We closed on the house at noon. The weather has been so nice. Cooler than I've ever seen it this time of year in STG.

Big move day. Up at 4:20 a.m to start getting things going. Some of the running club came and helped. Mike had a nice big 28 ft white trailer to haul stuff, and a flat bed on the truck and a flat bed trailer that I pulled. So we all met at 9 a.m at our old house and by 11:30 a.m we were unloaded at the new house. Great work guys we couldn't have done it without you! Thanks so much!

Finally got a run in... again. After a marathon moving weekend we are getting closer to having things squared away. At least everything in it's own room and all the big stuff put together. For some official funding reason we can't officially sleep there until tonight (Monday). So we've been staying at the in-laws the last couple nights. So this moring I ran from thier house down to the DC and around into Desert Hills and then  into Bloomington Hills and down to the river and back up to thier house. Nice run and even nicer temps. I loveing the weather we've had of late. Way cooler than the norm.

We slept in our new house for the first time last night and I got up and did my first run around the area. I just milled around a 4 mile radius of the house checking out the local streets and stuff. I'm way excited to be here. The location is going to be amazing for running, biking and pulling the bike trailer to the big park about a half mile away. The house is great and we feel very blessed right now.

This moving stuff is draining. We finally got the last load from the old house tonight after going over and cleaning it out. Here at the new house there are 10,000 things to do. I've been trying to get the ball rolling on the landscaping. We have a little over a third of acre lot and it's almost too big. I spent hours this morning out weeding... Anyways I was way busy all day but not a chance to run as I was drained and it was after 10 p.m when I got home. One of these days I'll get back on some kind of schedule.

Planned on running with the club but Mik'L and I had too many projects going on and ran out of time.

I did a run that I'll call my DC loop. I ran from the house over to River Road and then over to the freeway by Flying J and around the DC trail back up to River Road. Then over around Stone Cliff and through the fields back home. Not a bad run but the hammy has been really tight the last 4 or so days so that sucked. Had to extend just a little around the house to even it up.

Mik'L had an early morning board meeting so I was in charge of the little guy. So we did the baby jogger over to Bloomington Hills and around then back. It was a great run. I felt really good and the weather was nice an cool. We go home and then things kind of started getting windy and rainy. Myler slept the all the way but he loved it too. Hit the run at an 7:40 min mile pace.

Now we are headed to northern Utah to go up and listen to my Uncle and Aunt speak. They just got called to be mission presidents in Northern Japan. They will do great!

Over into Bloomington Hills and onto the new trail back up to River Road then up that into Jedora. A really relaxing, laid back run. Things felt pretty good for a Monday. I'm really going to try and get out every day this week. The last month or so have been crazy for us but now things have mellowed out and I can get back into a regular schedule. Even if the mileage isn't high I still want to be consistent.

Ran out the south side of Little Valley today and then cut up into the industrial park by Blue Bunny and then back around into the Knolls before coming home. I was kind of exploring and trying to find a road or trail that would get me from that side of the valley over to the other side. I did have to go through some "no trespassing" zones but no one said anything to me. This was a totally different run than yesterday but I ended up being almost the same distance and finished exactly at the same 7:21 min per mile pace. I guess I'm locked in the zone... a slow zone but locked in none the less.

Met up with Seven A. L. Hooper this morning up at the church. It was .5 miles up there from my house and 1.18 from Steve's. He tried to convince me it was over 2 miles. I wasn't having it and had to prove him wrong. We did a nice loop around Bloomington Hills and then around the back side of Stone Cliff to his house. So the loop it's self was 9 miles and add a mile from the house and back.

Ended up running in the "zone" again. 7:22 pace for the run. I kept having to hold Steve back. He wanted to do 3 miles of tempo and I said "No no no". Good run and a really nice morning. Now I have to spread out 40 tons of dirt and rocks around the new lot. I know it's 40 because they weighed it before they delivered it.

I finally got out to running club after a long hiatus. Once at the store I ran a little 1.2 mile shake out to try and get the stomach settled. We did the parkway loop and it was just ok for the first 6.7 or so then when we got to Green Springs we ran over on the golf course to get a drink and then past a pond... Next thing I know we are all out in the pond swimming. It felt oh so nice. Then we just ran it on back to the store. So the club ran 8.3 on that loop. Lots of fun tonight and glad I got out!

I did a big 20 mile mt bike ride this morning with my cousin Jordan. It was a lot of fun but by then last 4 or so miles both of us were trashed and could barely peddle back to the bikes. We rode from the trailhead in Bloomington up the Bear Paw trail to the water tank then down and over to do the Zen trail loop. At the end of this section I got a flat and kept pumping it up and riding. Then finally the slim in the tube filled the hole and I was able to keep riding. After Zen we rode up and did part of the Barrel trail with all the big jumps. Then over to Bear Paw and back down to the Jeep. It was a solid 3+ hour workout that left me dead by the end. We both ran out of water and were just hanging by a thread while trying to finish. Anyways it was good to get out and ride with Jordan and see his new bike. He's down from Logan for the weekend so I might catch a ride with him tomorrow.... depending on how the recovery goes this afternoon.

Did the Utah hill run down to Mike's house. Thanks to him and his wife for driving us out and watering us at the finish. We started out and I was just going to run nice and easy around the same pace I've been running. But Bill and Ken took off and then Steve started to work up to them and I was with him. So we started to hit 6 min pace and then 5:30 and next thing I knew for a short time we were at 4:55 on the downhill as we passed Bill and Ken. Not the smartest thing to do since I haven't ran anything fast since last fall. I was thinking at around mile 7 that there was no way I would be able to keep rolling... but we got in a nice little groove and still hit 6 min pace until we pulled up into the cool down. It felt really good to run faster again. The hammy was tight and might be really tight tomorrow but it never had any sharp painful signs. So we'll see how it goes.  Glad that I got out and glad I got some turnover for once. If I don't feel too bad in the days to come maybe I'll start trying a faster workout every 10 days or so and see where it takes me.

Finished the run at an avg of 6:40 min mile pace.

Worked on yard stuff from 7 a.m to 11 p.m straight. I bought 8 big new trees for the yard and with the help from the Stout family from our old ward we got them all in the ground. I also rented a trencher to dig the lines for my sprinklers. This whole process is actually a lot of fun but it's physically murdering me. My hands have a bunch of fresh new blisters and I was wearing gloves.

On top of not having the time at all to get out and run my calves were really sore from last Saturday's run. So not going out today was kind a must anyways. We'll see what Tuesday brings other than lots of yard work.

More trenching to get the sprinkler lines in. I've got to get the ditch witch back by noon to get the cheaper rate. I'd really like to get at least 5 miles in today if I can get things done. My calves are still pretty tight... man I'm out of shape to be so sore from such a small workout last Saturday.

More yard work.... I'm trying to get it all done and have the grass in by the weekend. Yesterday I spent 15 hours working in the yard and more of the same coming today.

Oh man am I going to run at all this week? Who knows is the real answer. I've got all the yard prep done and now just waiting until tomorrow for curb and sod. Hopefully things will go ok with them both going in the same day. I could use any help I could get doing the sod tomorrow after 9 a.m.

It's funny I haven't ran all week but have lost 5lbs from busting my butt out in the heat every day. I'll be glad to get back into a regular type of week and get all this done.

Finished all the plumbing and dirt work for the lawn the last couple days. I used this new stuff called blue-lock for the sprinkling system. It's some blue pipe that comes in a roll of 100ft and then there is no gluing. You just push it into the fittings you need. Way, way cool stuff that made installing it a dream compared to the old PVC crap. Plus it all flex's because it's more like hose that pipe so you don't break it like old pipe. Anyways two thumbs up from me on this and if you needing to do a sprinkler job as about it as a outdoor plumbing store.

After a long hard week last week I was ready to get back into the groove this week. Went out into the Knolls and looped through Bloomington Hills before finishing up River Road. I felt o.k at best. Just kind of sloppy in form. But I hope to get out everyday this week and start kind of working into whatever shape I can get in with this hamstring. It was sore this morning... so as you can see after not running all last week that isn't the answer to getting it better. I need a good steam roller to work it over every now and again.

Ran out to Flying J and then on the trail over to St. James then up River Road to Jedora. A pretty good little shake out as I'm still trying to get the body and mind on the same page. I'm having a problem with circulation. All day and at night in my sleep my arms and hands feel like they are going asleep. Not sure if it is diet or maybe from all the yard work or something completely different. Anyways it feels weird on a run because I don't know what to do with my arms as they feel completely out of sink.
