I wasn't going to even run today but after getting up and walking around the house I started to feel pretty good. So I just went out nice and easy. Going up some of the hill portions out in the reserve was a little challenging but nothing too bad.

I'm still going to take this week very easy. My wife and I are doing a hand-cart trek with our church on Thurs, Fri, Sat and I may not even get to run on those days. But we will be walking and eating dried fruit and jerky in small proportions.

Did the industrial park loop a little late in the morning. By the time I was doing the last few miles it was hot. My diet has been ugly this week. Hamburgers on Monday and pizza on Tuesday. Its time go come back to earth and start eating better. My miles will still be pretty low this week. I just don't want to drop any fitness in this so called down time. I think the worst part about racing is that it really cuts into your training- with the taper and then an even longer recovery.

Our trek is somewhat local. In the Kaibab National Forest. So I think I'll be able to get a run in early Thursday morning before we leave and then no run on Friday. On Saturday when we get back I will do a longer run that evening if I feel good.

Up to powerline and down Middleton trail. Then over by golf course and back home. Felt pretty good.

First day of trek. Walked a little over 8 miles/ pushed hand-cart and packed a pack with around 25lbs of junk in it. I don't make it a practice of giving myself miles for non running activities but this trek stuff left my calves just as sore as if I had did hill workouts at home. So we'll go with 4 easy miles on the day.

Same as Thursday but we only did a little over 5 miles. So I'll go with 2.

Walked a little over 2 miles on the last day of the trek. So 1 easy mile on that.

After finally getting home from a marathon of a trip with the youth from our stake I sat around the house so tierd I couldn't sleep for a few hours. Then just before ten o'clock I went out and did 12 miles down around town and back home. Bad, bad, bad run.
